Appointments & Referrals
To make an appointment, log in to the MHS GENESIS Portal.
For any care that your primary care manager doesn't provide, such as urgent, preventative, mental health, and specialty care, you will need a referral. Find out more about how to obtain the necessary referral and authorization.
How to Use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal
Establish DS Logon
If you haven’t set up a DS Logon, watch the “MHS GENESIS: DS Logon” video on the MHS GENESIS information page.
Messaging Provider
- From the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal Dashboard, choose the "Messaging" tab.
- Select “Send a Message.”
- In the “New Message” menu, select the patient for whom the message is about.
- In the “To” field, type in “Beale” and search for the appropriate clinic.
- Type the subject, attach relevant files, and write your message. Click “Send.”
Renew Current Prescriptions
- From the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal Dashboard, choose the Medications tab.
- In the “Viewing Health Record for” menu, select the patient for whom the medication is intended.
- Your current prescriptions will populate; click on the RENEW button on the top of the page.
- Select the prescription that you want to renew.
- Add any additional comments if necessary and click “Send.”
How to Activate Prescription Refills at the Pharmacy
- If there are no more refills left or the prescription has expired, a renewal request must be made. Medication Renewals must go through the patient’s primary care manager. This can be accomplished by calling the 9th MDG Appointment Line at 530-634-2941, or by sending a renewal request to the provider on the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal as illustrated above.
- Call the number on the prescription label, 530-634-2859 and follow the prompts.
- Mobile phone activation using Q-Anywhere: Text “get in line” to 877-834-0036 and follow the text message instructions.
- Request prescription refills at the pharmacy window at the 9th MDG.
- Prescription refills can also be done through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
- Select which prescription/s need/s to be refilled
- Choose patient’s preferred pick-up location
Request Appointments
- Any appointment can be made by calling the 9th MDG Appointment Line at 530-634-2941, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on federal holidays and training days. The 9th MDG opens at 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday due to readiness training.
- Active duty service members can book appointments on the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal by clicking on the Appointments tab.
- Click on “Schedule a New Appointment.”
- Search by “Provider” or “Visit Reason.” Please ensure you are booking with your primary care provider.
- Select appointment type. You can choose “In Person Visit” or “Telephone Visit.”
- For location, click “Air Force Medicine Beale Family Medicine Team A.”
- Select a day and time that works best.
