The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit www.tricare.mil/shutdown

Health Services

Optometry

We treat most acute eye problems, to include diseases, infections (e.g., pink eye) and minor eye injuries. The clinic supports the warfighter and aviator PRK laser eye surgery and aviator soft contact lens programs, plus provides “frame of choice” glasses, gasmask inserts and specialized high-altitude inserts for active-duty members. Retirees with a current prescription may order glasses. Eye examinations are available for active duty personnel and TRICARE Prime enrollees. Others are treated on a space-available basis. Additional services include flight line driver’s license color vision tests, flying-class physical eye exams, Department of Defense Medical Exam Review Board physical eye exams, and diabetic eye exams. Retirees and their family members not enrolled in TRICARE Prime are seen on a space-available basis.
